Human Motion Detection with ESP32-CAM

An embedded system that detects human presence with an LD2410 mmWave radar and sends a photo over Wi-Fi from an ESP32-CAM.
The problem
Passive infrared sensors miss people who stand still and trigger on heat sources. Radar can detect presence more reliably, and a photo tells the owner what actually happened.
What I did
LD2410 24 GHz radar sensor for presence and motion detection.
ESP32-CAM captures an image when a person is detected and transmits it over Wi-Fi.
Firmware, wiring and testing designed and built as my undergraduate thesis.
Outcome
Published in the Universitas Brawijaya repository (2024).
